2017 039 Joint Information ----Femoral stem prostheses for the trochanteric fractures
time:2017-10-25 | traffic:46 | source:

There were an estimated 1.66 million hip fractures worldwide in 1990. This

worldwide annual number is rising rapidly with an expected incidence of 6.26

million by the year 2050. An increase in these fractures is on the rise due to the

increased life expectancy of the people and osteoporosis.

Introduction

Extracapsular fractures of the proximal femur between the greater and lesser

trochanters. The female:male ratio between 2:1 and 8:1. Typically older age than

patients with femoral neck fractures.

Classification

1. BoydGriffin

classification

2. Evans classification

3. EvansJensenclassification

4. AO classification

The key to stable stabilization was to repair the continuity of the medial cortex in

the femoral rotor region, which was simple and practical and helpful.

Treatment strategies are decided by

1. Bone quality

2. Fragment geometry

3. The choice of implants

4. The quality of reduction

5. The placement of the implants

Treatment method

1. Traction treatment

2. Gamma Nail, PFN, PFNA, TFN, Hip joint replacement

3. DHS, DCS, PCCP, LCP

For hip joint replacement

(1) JT trochanteric stem

Features and benefits:

Reasonable

trochanter prosthesis design to minimize the osteotomy amount.

Subtrochanteric

transverse groove to control the anteversion angle effectively.

Decompression

groove design to prevent embolism generation postoperatively.

Distal

centralizer equalizes cement mantle and ensures correct stem alignment

Specification: Length:180220

Offset:38

Case:

(2) RSL Revision stem

Features and benefits:

A

2° tapered stem with a circular crosssection,

the stem can be placed in any

version by the surgeon.

8

longitudinal ribs with relatively sharp ridges that are intended to engage the

femoral cortex, thus enabling optimum rotational stability

The

tapered design and the torsionally resistant ribs provide firm fixation to the

healthy bone distal to the original prosthetic bed.

Specification: Length:175280mm

Diameter:1321mm

Offset:42/44mm. 13*175 is

used for intertrochanteric fractures usually.
